![]() Opening the plugin to Topaz from Affinity no long works. The Filters plugin we have is how it appears in Photoshop, but I think you'd use an edit in or open with option within Affinity for using Studio 2 from Affinity. I have recently upgraded to both Topaz AI photo AI 2.0.1 and also Affinity Photo 2.2.0. We never developed Studio 2 specifically for Affinity and we never tested Studio 2 with Affinity directly. As far as I know this should work as an external editor using an "edit in" or "open with" option within Affinity unless Affinity reads our Photoshop plugin, but I'm not sure if that's the case. Here’s what the Topaz support team told me: “ We don't have a true plugin for Affinity photo that installs directly into Affinity like our plugin does for Photoshop. I’ll definitely try that approach out and see if that fixes it. I dont know why but on my machine specs the brushing and masking is more fluid. ![]() Regardless, it seems pretty lame that Topaz doesn't offer better support for Mac Affinity users. The real magic starts when I then choose Edit In and select PS, from here I use a variety of Topaz Plugins that really assist my work, I choose to ignore the masking ability from within the Topaz Plugins (mostly), and instead apply the effects and mask back in PS. I think that should make it unnecessary to add anything to Plugin Search Folders but do not know if it will work at all. I would do the copy after quitting AP to be on the safe side. Upon checking the path to the PlugIns for Affinity 1.10 I found a version of the file TopazPhotoAI.8bf with and install date of 4th September 2023, so I assumed the Topaz update installed. plugin files to the AD 2 default plugin folder (using the "Open Default Folder in Finder" button in the window. I found that when I updated to Affinity 2, Affinity 1.10 was not uninstalled so I tried using Topaz Photo AI 2.0.0 from that Affinity Version and it worked. If not, it might be possible to open the app package in Finder (via right-click "Show Package Contents") & copy the. By the way it was made clear it will work with Affinity prior to purchase just like Studio 1 that I was using. So did they say that after clicking "Add" in Plugin Search Folders, you could do that & drill down into the Topaz Studio 2 package & add the plugin(s) that way? Sorry if this sounds negative, just getting really frustrated with it and don’t want to get to 12 months of no use after spending the best part of £100. Can report though online payment for the software went smoothly with no problems though. Would be great to be able to report it in the forum also with a new thread and a couple of images. Would be good if support could at least say “no it doesn’t work and won’t for the forseable future”. So, if you are interested in creating artistic images from your captured images, Topaz Studio 2 is a right choice. Overall dissapointed, I love the Topaz Studio, would really like to get my Studio 2 to do something. So, after doing the Topaz Studio 2 review, I feel that it looks good as a creative photo editor to add special effects to your images. Also I tried to upload two screenshots, but I get a message saying I’m not allowed to upload images. Would have started this as a new thread, but I don’t even have the facility to start a new thread on the forum, no plus button for me. To be honest pretty disappointed with Topaz, I paid for it but haven’t yet been able to use at all it in the last nine months so even though paid for it am using the old free Studio 1. As I say it isn’t a plugin installation problem as the plugin loads as it should do, but more the plugin itself will not link to its own resources.Īnybody else experience this on the Mac? Managed to solve it? Had much to and fro with support with the final response being that it will be kept open as a support problem nine months ago. It isn’t a plugin installation problem, the plugin loads fine and can use adjustments, so long as they don’t require resources such as textures and brushes. ![]() This very well might be a topaz issue as i just got their latest software update. Ive emailed topaz support but havent gotten much response yet so i figured i would ask here. I’m using Affinity Photo, but the Looks, Textures and other resources brushes etc aren’t available in the plugin. Hello, im having trouble getting affinity photo 2 and Topaz Photo Ai to integrate. I use Studio 1 free, I bought Studio 2 nine months ago for Mac.
